Arizona's Sylvagel
specialty gellants are low met viscosity polymers
designed to effectively gel a wide range of solvents.
Sylvagel 5000/6000 gellants form gels with many non-polar solvents.
Sylvagel 1000 was designed to gel more polar solvents.
Typical solvents
gelled are listed below.
These resins offer controllable rheology
in the final formulation, ranging from thixotropic gels to wax-like solids.
This flexibility allows a wide range of gels that can be formulated to
meet your most demanding product needs.
Our Sylvagel gellants can be used in a variety
of industrial applications, including insecticides, pesticides,
adhesives, paints and coatings, cleaners,
paint strippers, creams and polishes, lubricants and other
products that could benefit
from solvent gelation.
Sylvagel resins can also be used to enhance or replace specialty
waxes in a variety of consumer and industrial applications.
Typical solvents gelled with Sylvagel 5000/6000
gellants include 1-heptanol, styrene, toluene, 2-octanone, xylene, hexyl
acetate, d-limonene, crude oil, mineral oil, mineral spirits, castor oil,
diglycerides, triglycerides and 2-ethyl hexyl benzoate.
Typical solvents gelled with Sylvagel 1000 gellant include propylene
carbonate, butylene carbonate, n-methyl pyrrolidone, methylene chloride,
dibasic esters, bispheno-A (epoxy resin), acrylate monomers (e.g., TMPTA,
TPGDA, acrylate esters), ethylene glycol, propylene glycol and dipropylene
glycol.
