Key Responsibilities

 

Arizona Chemical, a Kraton Company is looking to hire a key member of the Science and Technology laboratory team. The Technician – Analytical Services is a part of the Technology team that supports manufacturing initiatives to improve operations effectiveness and cost position by conducting analytical testing and interpreting results.

 

Major Job Duties

  • Conduct all facets of analytical testing required in the development of new and improved products and services for AZC customers.
  • As appropriate, work directly with internal and external customers to provide data and analytical solutions to problems and assist in providing data and information that will enhance our competitive position.
  • Support manufacturing initiatives to improve operations effectiveness and cost position by conducting analytical testing and interpreting results.
  • Maintain analytical instrumentation, provide written and oral summaries of laboratory work, develop a good understanding of Analytical Chemistry and the chemistry of Company products and processes, maintain laboratory notebook, and actively participate in the Technology safety and ISO programs.
  • Identify ways to improve the safety of operations under his/her control and understands and complies with environmental, regulatory, and safety guidelines. Performs routine and non-routine analytical measurements.
  • Support the efforts of supervising analytical scientists on non-routine methods development.
  • Communicates results in oral and written form to supervising chemist, internal, and external customers.
  • Prepares and ships samples to outside laboratories for analysis.

Skills and Experience

 

  • B.S. degree in Chemistry.
  • Previous experience in an Analytical testing or R&D laboratory is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry, organic chemistry, the scientific method, related calculations, data interpretation, and basic laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to handle chemicals safely and assemble, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to communicate scientific results in oral and written form.
