Major Roles & Responsibilities


Kraton is looking to hire a key member of our Global Tax Team in Houston, TX. The Senior Tax Analyst will possess the knowledge and expertise to perform key tax actions, including preparation and filing of international, federal and state tax returns.  The Senior Tax Analyst will conduct tax research and perform compliance monitoring under the direction of the Director of Global Tax.


Major Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Compile, prepare, and/or analyze international, federal and state income and franchise tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely filing to minimize assessments and penalties
  • Manage the preparation of federal and state income tax filings, estimated tax payments and extensions
  • Lead the gathering and preparation of documentation related to Accounting for Income Taxes under ASC 740
  • Prepare and assess the international components of consolidated U.S. federal income tax returns, including Forms 1118, 5471, 5713, 8858, 8865 and related elections and consolidated return statements
  • Manage and coordinate the resolution process for state and federal tax notices and tax audits with various federal, state, and local governmental agencies
  • Analyze fixed asset data and maintaining tax depreciation records
  • Conduct research on international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as proactively monitoring legislative changes to ensure compliance
  • Participate in, and support, global tax planning, as well as involvement in special projects such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
  • Document, review, and test the performance of internal controls and procedures for SOX compliance testing

Skills and Experience



  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field of study from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years’ overall relevant work experience, including 3 – 5 years’ experience with corporate federal and multi-state tax compliance job responsibilities
  • General understanding of US income taxation and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Proven track record of understanding and applying basic tax calculations, concepts, principles, practices, and standards
  • Ability to work under general to limited supervision and act independently in an experienced professional subject matter expert (SME) capacity, able to resolve moderate to complex tax and other related issues
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written, verbal and presentation formats
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical skills with the ability to develop new processes as needed



  • Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting or related field of study from an accredited college/university
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
