Major Roles & Responsibilities

 

Arizona Chemical, a Kraton company, is currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our team at the Dover site. The Senior Process Engineer will support site compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management through participation in Process Hazard Analysis, Layers of Protection Analysis, Failure Modes and Effective Analysis and Management of Change.

 

Major Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Guide the introduction of new products into the manufacturing process and their subsequent incorporation into routine manufacture
  • Drive plant process improvement through cost reduction, yield improvement, energy use reduction, quality improvement, batch cycle time reduction, process bottlenecking and process reliability improvements
  • Assist with plant process troubleshooting
  • Develop and lead the execution of capital projects as part of the plant’s 5-year plan, as well as miscellaneous capital expenditures as assigned. This includes generating FEL-1 submission packages, participating in and leading design reviews, commissioning new equipment, carrying out detailed process design, and measuring and documenting process performance
  • Develop deep technical knowledge and understanding of plant process and products, along with their analytical test methods

Skills and Experience

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing plant
  • Fundamental understanding of chemical unit operations including distillation, evaporation, batch chemical reactions, filtration, heat transfer, and liquid and gas transfer (pumps, control valves, etc.)
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and have a strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel
  • Effective problem solving and proven analytical skills

 

Preferred

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and concepts
  • Experience with OSISoft PI, Emerson Delta V DCS, Visual Basic, MS Access, AutoCAD, Aspen Minitab and SAP
