Job Title: Sales Manager – Recyclables (Polymers)
Location: Location Flexible in the US (Preferably Midwest)
Employment Status: Full-Time
Reports To: This position will report to the Business Director, Americas.
Travel (%):
  • Estimated 60-70%, mostly North America based travel to customers and manufacturing locations as well as headquarters in Houston, TX
  • May travel to Europe once or twice per year

Major Roles & Responsibilities


Kraton is looking to hire an experienced member of our Sales team. This position will be the main focal point for globally selling our Off Grade products, with a goal to reduce inventories while simplifying our process to move the products to areas that will not interfere with our current prime markets and our business.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and sell our off grade products to customers and markets where we turn a profit, while not interfering with our prime business
  • Work with Director of Sales to develop an overall sales strategy that benefits Kraton
  • Work with Sales Managers in each region to ensure we extract as much value from the products as we can
  • Set pricing and value of the inventory on a monthly basis, based upon current market pricing
  • Work with Manufacturing Plant to determine the best route for off grade product to be sold
  • Manage inventory within our SAP system

Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Business or Science related disciplines
  • Ability to develop and close business
  • 5+ years’ experience in commodity chemical sales with polypropylene, polyethylene and/or polystyrene sales experience a plus
  • Excellent communication and sales skills including strong presentation skills
  • Results oriented
  • Comfortable and efficient in working virtually
  • Knowledge / Experience with base resin processing systems such as extruders and injection molding equipment
