 Major Roles & Responsibilities


Arizona Chemical, a Kraton company, is looking to hire a key member of our Plant Engineering and Maintenance Team.  The Reliability Engineer champions the implementation of reliability best practices and evaluation of new technology and ideas to continuously improve equipment reliability and compliance at our Savannah, GA location.


Major Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  •  Manage all aspects of the plants mechanical integrity program including developing repair plans and contractor oversight of inspections and repairs.
  • Advise and assist planners and supervisors on inspection requirements and repairs.
  • Provides reliability improvement strategies and takes appropriate action to eliminate recurring failures.
  • Works with the different functional areas (operations, engineering, and maintenance) within the plant to identify, evaluate, and implement reliability improvement opportunities through changes to operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and equipment upgrades.
  • Analyzes equipment history to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures consistent use of root cause analysis tools on all high risk reliability incidents.
  • Champions life-cycle costing analysis use for equipment selection, maintenance, and investment decisions.
  • Participates in the design of operator minor maintenance inspections and tasks to ensure that tasks are well designed, training is provided, and that the tasks support the overall reliability strategy.
  • Recommends maintenance/operating technologies and methodologies (FMEA, RCM & RCFA) that eliminate unsafe working conditions and environmental non-compliance issues.
  • Participates in audits to measure the effectiveness of reliability related activities such as equipment repairs, part quality, and failure investigation processes.
  • Assists Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance departments in developing procedures, training, and processes to ensure equipment is operated within its design parameters.

Skills and Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience applying reliability concepts in manufacturing settings.
  • Knowledge of quality and reliability engineering standards and analyses
  • Must be able to provide evidence of effective business communication skills and training skills
  • Experience with OSISoft PI, Emerson DeltaV, Six Sigma, Visual Basic, MS Access, AutoCAD, Aspen, Minitab, SAP (preferred)
  • Experience with various analytical tools, including Pareto analysis
  • Experience with API inspections and ASME codes
  • CMRP (preferred)
