Major Roles & Responsibilities


Arizona Chemical, a Kraton company, is looking to hire a key member of our Plant Management Team. The Quality HSES Manager leads site performance towards Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) Excellence, as outlined in the Kraton Core Values and HSES Strategy. This role owns the quality process, site HSES activities including the interface with external regulators and has technical responsibility for the QC laboratory.

Major Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve effective HSES Management System and drive for improvement in its core processes
  • Work with the site Management Team to leverage their support in the achievement of the HSES goals
  • Effectively implement Fire Protection Programs and ensure compliance with Security requirements associated with CFATS, ACC Responsible Care Security Code, and the Kraton Global Security Policy
  • Advance HSES Training process with focus on classroom, hands-on and computer based delivery techniques
  • Actively involved in capital project initiation, approval and execution. Monitor the progress of the HSES risk reduction elements within stages to ensure their successful implementation
  • Pursue ownership and participation of the site employees in the HSES programs at all levels of the organization
  • Safely operate the Quality Lab
  • Test, track and maintain quality results and trends for process stability and metrics (SQC)
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for QM-module in SAP
  • Support site continuous improvement through the effective use of data and L6S methodologies
  • anage the site ISO process and drive improvements in site process through effective auditing
  • Act as the interface to the commercial organization and represent the voice of the customer on site

Skills and Experience



  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related field of study from an accredited college / university
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a combination of Quality and HSES roles in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of governmental regulations, policies and compliance agreements as they relate to HSES activities
  • Practical understanding of HSES Management System and policies specific for chemical industry (e.g. Management of Change)
  • Thorough understanding of chemical manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of key management tools – Problem solving, root cause analysis, HAZOP, ISO Standards



  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential
