Major Roles & Responsibilities


Kraton is looking to hire a new member of our plant management team.  The HSES Manager will manage Health, Safety, Environmental and Security functions and lead the department to ensure facility compliance with federal, state, local and corporate requirements.


Major Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Interface with external Agency personnel in reporting, permitting, compliance demonstration, and program development activities
  • Provide leadership for developing and achieving HSES goals, milestones and targets
  • Establish goals, develop site programs and drive implementation throughout the organization
  • Set clear standards, roles, responsibilities and expectations for employees in department
  • Support facility needs during safety or environmental related emergency events

Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety, Environmental Science or other related discipline from an accredited college/university
  • 10 or more years of HSE experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local HSE laws and regulations
  • Experience managing HSE issues and leading operations to achieve top quartile performance
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) program as it applies to a chemical manufacturing plant
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to write well organized and succinct compliance related documents for submission to outside regulatory agencies
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to work with personnel at all levels in a challenging and flexible environment, as well as interface with outside regulatory agencies and the community
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point



  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
