Major Roles & Responsibilities


Arizona Chemicals, A Kraton Company, has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Account Manager in their Chemical Intermediates Sector to be located in the Almere, Netherlands facility. The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for managing assigned customers, market segments or regions in order to deliver sustainable growth aligned with business unit and corporate/business unit strategy. The AM will improve position with existing customers and deliver new customers by tactically executing price negotiations, addressing customer satisfaction matters, coordinating technical service assistance, identifying future product un-met needs, recognizing and optimizing value, managing distributors and / or agents and timely communication of forecasted demand to Sales & Operations Planning  (S&OP).  The individual assuming this role will require developing strong, in-depth relationships with customers in the assigned region and require a mentality to hunt for and convert opportunities with Arizona Chemicals solutions.

Major roles and responsibilities include:


  • Meet monthly and annual budgeted revenue, volume and margin targets – grow sales; optimize pricing; define value in use and develop and implement tactics to achieve optimum value
  • Develop & report into the business functional account plans, utilizing knowledge of customer practices/policies and business strategies that are designed to gain increased sales, market share and ultimately ‘preferred supplier’ status
  • Provide monthly rolling sales forecast for territory
  • Develop and maintain excellent contacts and relationships to maximize Arizona Chemicals knowledge of customer strategies, current industry trends, and future business plans
  • Maintain a seamless flow of information between Arizona Chemicals and all customers
  • Grow Arizona Chemicals business in all key target market segments according to the Business team goals. Develop interface with other Arizona Chemicals business units and use synergies to grow market share in target market segments
  • Manage key customers on global basis as required and coordinate activities with other Arizona Chemicals regional organizations
  • Capable of making presentations to key customers on behalf of Arizona Chemicals
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform to provide feedback information to the organization – call reports, competitive landscaping, etc.

Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and/or Business related disciplines
  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in expanding chemical sales through organic growth of existing portfolio and new products, preferably in an industry that processes and consumes Fatty Acids and Tall Oil products
  • Experience negotiating supply agreements and other type of contracts
  • Working knowledge of Customer relationship Management (CRM) systems (Microsoft® Dynamics™ preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft® Office™ suite
  • Excellent communication skills (presentation, verbal, and written), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinker, flexible and ability to take charge
  • Knowledge of Fatty Acids and Tall Oil Products and ability to sell on value of product
  • Ability to communicate in English and German – desirable
  • Cultural familiarity & capability to operate in Europe
