Major Roles & Responsibilities

 

Arizona Chemical, a Kraton Company, is currently looking to hire a highly motivated and analytical Senior Science & Technology (S&T) Technician for the Almere, Netherlands Science & Technology Centre. The Senior S&T Technician will support the quality of the laboratory and systems by maintaining chemical laboratory methods, equipment and testing in support of the Research and Development Laboratory while fully supporting the values and the vision of the company.

 

Major Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Follow operating procedures and participating in all safety activities
  • Collect, record and report experimental data and ensure that the information/data is submitted in a timely manner and the data supplied is accurate
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and maintain a tidy operating environment
  • Assist in maintaining chemical and equipment inventory
  • Perform experiments in accordance with project requirements, identify potential issues and translate these into technical solutions
  • Present project summaries to internal and external audiences and write technical reports

Skills and Experience

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry
  • 3-10 years of experience in Organic Synthetic Chemistry
  • Basic knowledge of Resin, Polymer and Organic Chemistries upscaling
  • Ability and affinity to apply scientific methods to solve problems
  • Analytical and creative skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to organize data, set priorities and seek opportunities for improvements within the site
  • Working knowledge of Standard Quality Control and Standard Process Control, chemical laboratory methods, equipment and testing preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills, and ability to resolve technical or other issues through effective dialog
  • Working knowledge of safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
