Date of most recent previous report (if any).

This is the first Annual Corporate Sustainability Report for Arizona Chemical covering our activities through December 2009. Arizona Chemical, formerly a wholly-owned subsidiary of International Paper Company, was sold to Rhône Capital III L.P. on Feb. 28, 2007. As a former company of International Paper (IP), our activities through 2006 were included in the IP Annual Report. Our belief that Arizona Chemical has a unique history, our distinctive value chain in the context of today’s challenges and our compelling opportunities for the future encouraged us to prepare our own report. In developing this report, we have attempted to provide the information that our stakeholders will find most useful, while recognizing that our information-gathering capabilities will evolve in our subsequent reporting efforts. American Securities, LLC purchased a controlling interest of our company on November 19, 2010.

GRI Disclosure Information:

In 2009, we initiated our first formal materiality assessment to gain perspective on what is important to our key stakeholders. First, we developed a list of economic, environmental and social aspects for our company. Using an interview and vigorous dialog process, we validated our aspects with key functional leaders and senior management officials within Arizona Chemical. We also integrated into our assessment, information gained from our communities, customers, suppliers, investors, employees and competitors. This is critical in ensuring that issues of concern to our stakeholders were included. The materiality assessment was completed in early 2010, and has informed the content of this report. Other issues are also included, as encouraged by GRI or deemed appropriate by Arizona Chemical.

While written for a wide audience, the primary audience for this report is our stakeholders, including governments, customers, employees, suppliers, and the communities in which we operate. We also maintain well-developed internal communication systems to share information with our employees.

3.6
Boundary of the report (e.g., countries, divisions, subsidiaries, leased facilities, joint ventures, suppliers). See GRI Boundary Protocol for further guidance.

Information presented throughout the report represents the facilities for which Arizona Chemical has operational control.

3.7
State any specific limitations on the scope or boundary of the report (see completeness principle for explanation of scope).

Report does not include direct sustainability information from our suppliers, customers or contract manufacturers. Arizona Chemical does conduct some small percentage (less than 5%) of its manufacturing externally under tolling agreements; that data is not included in this report and we have determined that exclusion of this data does not materially affect the conclusions of this report.

3.8
Basis for reporting on joint ventures, subsidiaries, leased facilities, outsourced operations, and other entities that can significantly affect comparability from period to period and/or between organizations.

The company, AZ Chem Sweden Holdings AB, directly or indirectly has 2 primary subsidiaries, Arizona Chemical Company, LLC and Arizona Chemical AB.  Arizona Chemical is also engaged in a joint venture through subsidiary, Arboris LLC (Savannah, GA, USA). The facility is not under the operational control of Arizona Chemical, and their data is not included in this report.

3.9

Explain any decisions not to apply, or to substantially diverge from, the GRI Indicator Protocols.

Information contained throughout report in applicable sections.

3.10
Explanation of the effect of any re-statements of information provided in earlier reports, and the reasons for
such re-statement (e.g.,mergers/acquisitions, change of base years/periods, nature
of business, measurement methods).
