Tread Enhancement Additives

High performance (HP) and ultra high performance (UHP) passenger car tires with silica-reinforced treads are characterised by their excellent grip on wet and dry surfaces as well as by their low rolling resistance. However, there is a constant need to further improve these characteristics and to optimize performance taking into account safety and fuel economy.

In order to further improve wet braking and rolling resistance of tires, additives that alter the blend morphology of rubber in the compound leading to tire performance enhancement are used. Arizona Chemical’s SYLVATRAXX™ portfolio offers enhanced performance to the tires industry.

SYLVATREXX™ SA aromatic monomer resins enhance wet grip and terpene-phenol resins  of SYLVATRAXX™ TP reduce the rolling resistance.
