Arizona Chemical’s latest innovation providing lithographic solutions are resins based on SYLVAPRINT™ HSR (Heat Stable Rheology) chemistry.SYLVAPRINT™ HSR resins are the products of a unique technology which allows for the production of thermally stable varnishes and inks. SYLVAPRINT™ HSR products are available for the global lithographic market and are intended for use in heatset, coldset and sheetfed varnish systems.

Reduced cycle time and increased product consistency

Our HSR technology produces structured varnish rheology over a wide range of viscosities while minimising or completely removing the need for gelling agents. Inks produced from this innovative technology exhibit greater rheological stability over a wide range of press operating temperatures when compared to conventional technology. Application benefits can include improvements in dot gain and misting. Low tack is maintained, allowing for flexibility in the printing substrate used.

Our resins have good compatibility with a wide range of mineral oils, vegetable oils, ester solvents and alkyds which reduces the need for additives and sweeteners. Setting and gloss performance, primary requirements for high quality heatset and sheetfed printing, are not compromised. SYLVAPRINT™ HSR resins allow for simpler formulating strategies which help to improve product consistency and reduce cycle time.

Arizona Chemical offers also a wide range of high molecular phenolic ink resins with a broad range of viscosity and cloud point properties.

Oil based ink solvents for increased resin concentrates

Our ink solvents aim at providing the ink formulated the widest range of formulation flexibility. Our ink solvents allow the formulation of fast setting offset inks. High solvency power coupled with fast drying rate, allows mineral distillates to be replaced and resin concentrations increased. This way, non-Volatile Organic Content (VOC) inks with high gloss and good rub resistance can be obtained. SYLVAPRINT™ and SYLFAT™ ink solvents provide good solvency power without compromising viscosity and structure and are excellent alternatives to rapeseed methyl esters.
