Arizona Chemical's bio-sustainable polymer chemistry has broad utility in the formulation of make-up and color cosmetics. From low loadings designed to stabilize mineral dispersions in foundation to high loadings designed as the backbone of a clear lip or fragranced delivery stick, a SYLVACLEAR™ polymer is available with the right combination of compatibility, stability and performance. These functional, structuring polymers can produce hard gels from most cosmetic liquid ingredients to replace traditional waxes and oils.
Stable emulsions are formed when gels containing SYLVACLEAR™ polymers are emulsified with the second immiscible phase. Oil-in-gelled water and water-in-gelled oil emulsions are possible for cosmetic applications such as foundations and mascaras. Formulations can be developed with exceptional water resistance and gloss. At high polymer loadings, solid sticks (clear or opaque) are possible containing a wide range of fragrance or actives.
