Antiperspirant and Deodorant
Arizona Chemical's bio-sustainable gelation chemistry has utility in the formulation of antiperspirant and deodorant products. The ability to make clear gels or emulsions of common silicones and glycols coupled with a high degree of water and sweat resistance make SYLVACLEAR™ polymers a good choice for the backbone of an antiperspirant or deodorant system. These gelled systems have good compatibility with the actives, salts and fragrances typically used APDO formulation.

Benefits |
|
Based on pine tree and vegetable extracts |
Up to 97% bio-renewable carbon(1) |
|
Forms gel network that traps emollients, silicone oils, glycols and actives |
Clear gel sticks or emulsion sticks possible. Allows for high lipophile loadings including silicones. Excellent payout (shear-thinning) |
|
Hydrophobic polymers, non-irritating chemistry |
Water repellency and wear resistance. Improved skin hydration levels (Corneometer) in clinical trials. Aesthetically pleasing oil-in-gelled water or water-in-gelled oil emulsions possible with little or no surfactant. Gels are compatible with a wide range of pH sensitive actives. High salt tolerance. |
|
Functional polymer |
Stabilizes conventional emulsions. Stabilizes pigments and solids dispersions. |
(1)Percent renewable carbon (respired within the last decade vs. fossil carbon respired more than 50,000 years ago). Measured by 14˚C content, ASTM D6866
