Account Manager

Location: Almere, The Netherlands
Organization / Unit: Commercial

Purpose:

To manage assigned region or market segment including market/customer definition; recognizing and optimizing value and managing distributors. To effectively manage customer accounts to include maintenance of existing sales, price negotiations, addressing customer satisfaction matters, coordinating technical service assistance, identification of future product needs, and new business development.

Key Accountabilities: 

• Grow sales; optimize pricing; define value in use and developing and implementing tactics to achieve optimum value.
o By identifying and initiating new product development opportunities.
o By identifying and initiating new applications for existing products.
o By expanding the account base.
o By proactively providing technical service support on product applications.
o By quickly responding to customer complaints, inquiries, and requests.
o By differentiating Arizona Chemical from its competitors.
o By recognizing full Arizona value package and positioning with customer.

• Develop & report into the business functional account plans, utilizing knowledge of customer practices/policies and business strategies that are designed to gain increased sales, market share and ultimately ‘preferred supplier’ status.
o By utilizing a team effort and input from critical corporate functions (e.g., Marketing, Tech. Service, Manufacturing, R&D, CS, PM).
o Also by gaining corporate agreement on stated short-term goals, long-term goals, and action plans necessary for achievement. 

• Provide monthly rolling sales forecast for territory.
o By maintaining effective contact and communication with key-, preferred- and quality customers.
 
• Develop and maintain excellent contacts and relationships to maximize Arizona Chemical’s knowledge of customer strategies, current industry trends, and future business plans.
o By identifying and maintaining contact with key personnel at all account locations which are important to business success and developing long-term customer relationships.
 
• Maintain a seamless flow of information between Arizona Chemical and all customer.

Knowledge and Experience
Functional / Technical 

• Knows and cultivates relationships with key customers across all levels in their organization.
• Capable of making presentations to key customers on behalf of Arizona Chemical. 
• Must be knowledgeable of Arizona Chemical work processes in order to quickly respond to customer issues and concerns.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent – essential (Technical degree highly desired)

•  3-5 years sales experience in chemical industry – essential
•   Understanding of the metal working fluid and lubricant marketplace and customer base
•  Business acumen – essential
