Arizona Chemical opposes the abolishment of a tax on burning CTO

In July 2009, the Swedish Ministry of Finance proposed that the tax on burning CTO, introduced in Swedish law ten years ago, should be abolished (DS 2009:24). The ministry invited stakeholders to give their point of view on the proposal.
Arizona Chemical in Sweden is directly affected by the proposal and has sent a response to the ministry.

“Arizona Chemical strongly objects to the proposal of abolishing the tax on burning CTO. There is no legal justification of abolishing the tax on burning CTO and the economical, social and environmental consequences would be large,” states Juhani Tuovinen, Vice President and Managing Director – Europe.
